Experiencia fantástica: I have been a student at Spanish Center Merida twice in person in the past three years for three weeks each time. I have also done online instruction with them from home. My experiences with Spanish Center Merida have been very good. There is no substitute for learning a language than actually speaking it and Spanish Center Merida's teachers are perfect for that. I found that staying in Merida during my three weeks of classes was a great experience. Merida is lovely and has a fascinating history. The people there are nice and the crime rate is lower in Yucatan than in most parts of the U.S. I have done a lot of walking through Merida's neighborhoods and never felt uncomfortable, even at night. I enjoy Merida very much and I recommend it to anyone I meet who tells me that they want to learn Spanish.

They will work with you to design a curriculum based on your level and available time. If the opportunity presents itself I would enroll again.

Additionally, my teenage daughter participated in an immersion program with the school. The teachers are amazing! Telma has an abundance of patience to explain the same thing to me multiple times in multiple different ways until I finally understand. Was mir besonders gefiel waren die sofortigen Korrekturen . So merkte ich direkt, was ich besser machen konnte. Und das nicht nur einmal, sondern solange , bis ich es richtig sagte! Notfalls auch schriftlich. Persönliche Lernwünsche werden optimal im spanischen Gespräch umgesetzt! Für mich war es ein sehr feinfühliges , menschliches Miteinander und ich bedanke mich herzlich besonders bei Martha und Telma ! Ihr seid die Besten!

Experiencia fantástica: I would recommend Spanish Center Mérida 10/10 times!! It was exactly what I was looking for. The teachers are incredibly nice, they communicate clearly before your arrival, and are open to all levels of Spanish leaners. They made me feel at home immediately on my first day. The building they are in is also very beautiful and clean. You can take group courses, but I did a 1-week individual course with Telma. Telma was kind, patient, and a very well-spoken and organized teacher. My Spanish definitely improved and I felt more comfortable speaking with other native Spanish speakers outside of class. They also provide coffee and fruit every day, which was a really nice bonus!

Experiencia fantástica: My 13 year old son and I learned a lot of Spanish in one week. The teachers are excellent and engaging. They are experienced and know how to teach! They are also friendly and patient. The facility is clean and in good condition. We will be coming back next summer to work on our fluency!

Experiencia fantástica: As a beginner Spanish speaker, I spent 3+ weeks at the Spanish Center to kickstart my travels around Mexico. It was a great experience and I can't recommend the Center more highly. All the instructors are so kind and patient - especially given my brain's inability to grasp languages quickly! The 4-hour/day intensive one-on-one tutoring was exactly what I needed to start building my Spanish language foundation (thank you!). I look forward to enrolling for additional hours when I am back in Merida.

Experiencia fantástica: Hola! We are a young couple from Switzerland and we have started our trip trough Mexico in Merida. We took a week of Spanish course (3 hours per day) to prepare us for the further journey. We were both total beginners and within a week we learned a lot! The lessons were good fun and Telma, the teacher, really nice and friendly. We could recommend this school to anyone as a enrichment to their trip :-)

Experiencia fantástica: Spanish Center Merida was a wonderful experience and not only because of the high quality instructors, small groups (most often one on one) but the efforts that were taken to support, monitor, encourage and instruct was so personal and warm. When correcting my mistakes I always felt their genuine desire to see me succeed. They also provided some unique experiences to visit the market, share in the food and celebration of a traditional festival and to play scrabble in Spanish. Every effort was made to encourage me and to help me succeed. I hope to return to my new found friends next year.

Experiencia fantástica: My two week course was just what I needed to start our three month stay in Merida. My teacher was kind and professional. I was able to ask whatever questions I had, but she was prepared to teach material she thought would be most helpful. It was so great for not only Spanish, but to have someone help us figure out the basics of living in the city. Our 10 and 8 year old boys also took classes. They were not very excited to take the class but had only good things to say about their teacher and their class. They have more desire to try speaking than they did before they took the class. We have already recommended this school to new friends we have met and are grateful for the experience we had.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a small but mighty operation. Under the capable management of Director Telma Pech, she and the staff respond personally to the needs of clients. Pre-covid, Jan 2019 we did a 3 week study abroad program with a group of students and faculty from Pacific University MSW program in Oregon to study Spanish, attended cultural courses, social service programs in Merida, and out of town education excursion. All experiences without a hitch. Excellent service and product cannot recommend too highly.

Habe damals Intensivunterricht genommen, um schnell meine Sprachkenntnisse zu verbessern um mich besser mit den Einheimischen verständigen zu können. Der Unterricht bestand aus Übungen im Klassenzimmer sowie Ausflügen um das gelernte anzuwenden. Würde diese Sprachschule jederzeit wieder Besuchen und auch weiterempfehlen.

Experiencia fantástica: I had the experience of a lifetime here. I learned so much in just under nine weeks, it's amazing. The teachers are top rank, and friendly. My friend Ximena, she's from Colombia, and me got together and she said , Wow, you're speaking and understanding is way faster. I owe it to my Profesoras. Not only did they improve my Spanish, they helped me find an Airbnb close to the school, thus saving me a lot of time and effort. Why didn't I get a teacher like them in grade and high school? I think you will be pleased with your decision, learn more than you expect, and have fun doing it. Merida is also a fun city and the people are the nicest ! My friends want to meet them because I talk about them incessantly, my tres Profesoras, I mean,singing their praises endlessly. Don't cheat yourself, this is the place to learn! When I arrived in Mérida, I had only two weeks left to perfect my Spanish before I started an internship of 6 months in Mérida. The teachers at Spanish Center Mérida helped me improve my Spanish significantly within two weeks from level A2 to B2! I don't know what I would have done without them. The teachers are extremely friendly, fun and helpful. One day we prepared a Mexican dish together, and they took into account that I am a vegetarian, which I truly appreciated. This is the place to go if you want to improve your Spanish!

Thelma and Julieta are fantastic teachers who also included Spanish music, movies and youtube videos in lessons. I would encourage you to stay with host families and experience Merida. It’s a safe and vibrant city with LOTS to do everyday.

I did a one week course which helped me alot . learning basics and verbs here helped me further advance my Spanish. I can now use apps and translate to properly speak basic Spanish when needed, I recommend this location.

Experiencia fantástica: I was a student in the Spanish Center Merida when I stay in Merida for few weeks before traveling through the rest of the Mexico. Experiencia fantástica: I traveled to Merida last January with a small school group and took Spanish classes here for three weeks. The teachers helped us improve our Spanish and worked well with the different levels of Spanish that we had in our group. Along with Spanish lessons, we were able to learn a lot about the culture -- we went on a couple of trips and learned how to cook different foods. During the spring, I also took some online Spanish lessons with one of the teachers via Skype, which was also a positive experience. Would definitely recommend!

I didn't speak a word of Spanish when I arrived there and after a week I was able to communicate on my own. At least it worked out for the next weeks for traveling through Mexico. I can highly recommend Spanish Center Merida. If you are looking for a Spanish class - choose them.

Experiencia fantástica: I spent two weeks at Spanish Center Mérida in 2017 and it was the best learning experience I have had in going to México every year for the previous 15 years. It was a total learning experience, including the formal classes, the culture based classes in music and local idioms and Maya language influence, plus the hands-on cooking class and the various excursions conducted by the teachers themselves. They were all very friendly and both our teachers were excellent. I later took follow up lessons on line and had the same great teacher. No hesitations about going back, and Merida is an interesting and enjoyable city.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a delightful school in a beautiful neighborhood in Mérida. The teachers are super friendly and very competent. Classes are very comfortable and the curriculum is structured to meet the specific needs of each student. I was very happy with how much I learned about Mexican culture in addition to the Mexican particulars in using the Spanish language. The school set me up with a wonderful homestay too, and the administrator took me on day excursions to historic and beautiful places in the area.

Experiencia fantástica: I have travelled to Merida on two occasions for a month each time. I spent 5 days a week with the lovely people at Spanish Center Merida learning the language and culture. We went on some excursions together and I found this to be an amazing adventure. I felt very welcomed and encouraged by the staff there. Thanks to the great effort put forth by these wonderful teachers I was able to summon the courage to speak an interact with the people around Merida with confidence. They meet you where you are at; you can let them know what you want to learn and cater your experience, or just let them take the lead! Experiencia fantástica: I completed an intensive 3-month Spanish language immersion course at Spanish Center Merida several years ago and I loved it! It gave me a solid foundation in grammar and vocabulary thanks to the excellent teaching staff. They also offered various cultural activities - especially centred around the delicious Yucatecan cuisine that the region offers. I would highly recommend studying at Spanish Center Merida!! :)

Experiencia fantástica: We started to learn Spanish in the school. In total we had 3 excellent classes and online classes from home. I can highly recommand the familiar atmosphere and the likeable team. In the meantime we became friends. We stayed with mexican families which helped a lot. They integrated us to all family events and we celebrated Christmas all together. In the school we cooked Mexican specialties together and did trips to Maya runins and much more. We are very sad that we are not able to come for a next class this December.
