Estuve un total de 4 semanas en esta escuela y desde el primer momento me sentí como en casa :) Todos los profesores son increíblemente amables y me ayudaron muchísimo a mejorar mi español! Un agradecimiento especial a Paty y Juan Carlos, con quienes tuve clases todos los días y que me ayudaron a entender por fin el subjuntivo Las clases individuales son súper eficientes y hace mucho tiempo que no me sentía tan motivado para ir a clase. Experiencia fantástica: I took 10 hours of private lessons with Alondra and it was the most productive time I’ve ever had learning Spanish when compared to a year of apps, videos, and online tutoring elsewhere. Alondra and I had fun in our lessons, and she quickly found games, topics, and reading material that was perfect for my level. The school is so warm and welcoming. I met a few other students and teachers and I felt at home. The school even organized a trip to some markets south of the city where we practiced a bit of Spanish while trying new food. Thanks to the team and Alondra for an amazing week of classes!

Experiencia fantástica: I have just finished 2 weeks attending Hola Spanish school in Oaxaca. I fully recommend this school to anybody that want to learn Spanish and enjoy the beautiful city of Oaxaca. No matter at what level you are, you are going to learn a lot. All the teachers are extremely professional, and at the same time, kind and welcoming. Another advantage is the great flexibility in scheduling. If you find it hard to decide where to learn Spanish I assure you that this is the place for you.

Experiencia fantástica: Wat een fantastische school! Ik had vier uur per dag les voor vijf dagen van Yez en Edgar. Vanaf het eerste moment voelde ik me ontzettend welkom. De leraren zijn allemaal ongelofelijk vriendelijk, geïnteresseerd en geduldig. De lessen worden helemaal op jouw niveau aangepast en je wordt uitgedaagd om zoveel mogelijk Spaans te spreken. Na vijf dagen is mijn zelfvertrouwen in Spaans erg gegroeid! Naast de lessen is het ook mogelijk om aan te sluiten bij extra activiteiten die de school organiseert. Experiencia fantástica: I had an amazing month with Juan Carlos as my teacher! They were very accommodating with my schedule, as I had volunteer commitments outside of my classes. Experiencia fantástica: I spent a month at this school, and it was an incredible experience! My teachers, Paty and Alondra, were super friendly and very easy to understand in Spanish. The school isn’t just about learning Spanish — it’s a true cultural immersion. During our classes, we often went out into town to explore local spots and practice Spanish in real-life situations. On my last day, we even celebrated Día de los Muertos (a bit early, haha). When I first arrived, I only had a basic level of Spanish and couldn’t really conjugate verbs. Now, I can use past and future tenses, which has made a huge difference in both my speaking and comprehension. Thank you very much, I recommend!!

Experiencia fantástica: My time in Oaxaca with Hola Latin Spanish was unforgettable. Immersing myself in the language while surrounded by the colors, food, and rhythms of daily life gave my Spanish lessons real depth and meaning. The school curated excursions around what we were personally interested in. We visited Teotitlán, where we watched artisans create tapetes using ancient natural dyes and weaving traditions. It was both beautiful and inspiring. I’m already looking forward to going back.

Without a doubt my most favourite experience of my travels. I spent just under 3 months here studying and I am so happy with the progress I made and the unforgettable experiences that came with it. The quality of the lessons are unmatched, I had the pleasure of getting taught by 4 different teachers throughout and each one had there own style which made the process more interesting. All the teachers here are qualified with degrees so you know you are receiving a high level of learning. They all speak excellent English, so when there was a topic I didn’t understand they could break it down for me exactly as I needed to hear it. Not only surrounded by super nice and friendly teachers but on most weekends they organise some kind of excursions to local towns I would not have visited otherwise. On top of that there would be invitations to dinners in the week at some really nice spots alongside other students which was fun an social. Overall I loved the energy I recieved from all the staff and felt very welcomed. I feel like I have made some friends for life! One of my teachers in particular, who I spent a lot of time without outside of class and with his family have become very good friends too! I went to another school in Oaxaca for 2 weeks prior and it wasn’t even close to level of teaching i recieved here. I couldn’t recommend this school enough, if you are reading this review I can assure you this is the place to begin or continue your Spainish learning journey ✌

Experiencia fantástica: Ich habe 4 Wochen bei Hola Latin Spanish gelernt und kann die Schule jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen. Ich hatte eine wunderbare Zeit dort. Die Lehrpersonen sind sehr gut organisiert, geduldig und passen den Unterricht genau an dein Niveau sowie an deine persönlichen Bedürfnisse an. Dadurch konnte ich mein Spanisch deutlich verbessern und habe in kurzer Zeit sehr viel gelernt. Besonders toll fand ich die familiäre Atmosphäre, man fühlt sich von Anfang an willkommen und gut aufgehoben. Nicht nur der Spanischunterricht ist hervorragend, auch die abwechslungsreichen Ausflüge und ausserschulischen Aktivitäten sind spannend und machen Spass. Sie ermöglichen, andere Studierende kennenzulernen und gleichzeitig mehr über die Kultur, Traditionen und das Leben zu erfahren. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen und kann die Schule von Herzen weiterempfehlen.

Experiencia fantástica: Spanish summer camp here and had an incredible time! It was often just four kids with two teachers and they did so many fun activities, museums, cooking, chocolate making, lots of games and songs as well as the Spanish lessons. We would highly recommend this school to adults or children!

Experiencia fantástica: I took a few weeks of in-person classes and continued online for several months with Edgar. I went from knowing nothing except basic vocabulary to being conversational. I have felt super supported through the learning process with homework, explaining slang, and even suggestions for TV shows to help me learn. Edgar has the patience of a saint and even though I've been to other Spanish schools, I'd still prefer to take classes online with this school just for his teaching!

Experiencia fantástica: Sent our two kids ages 6 and 8 here for 4 weeks. Really great program, mixing activities, games, instruction, crafts, field trips etc. great student:teacher ratio. we’d previously tried kids language schools in SMA and San Sebastián in previous years, and had been disappointed by the lack of spanish acquisition (lots of piñatas, not much spanish); i’m pleased to report that Hola Latin Spanish greatly surpassed these prior experiences! the kids were excited to go to class every day, and there’s a great balance between fun and study. often another family would join for a while, which provided opportunities to mix different groups of kids, providing a more social experience. In oaxaca there are many language schools that offer kids programs (and i contacted them all!), but chose Hola Latin because they had clearly put the most thought into developing a program. I would recommend to any family!

We got picture updates of the daily activities The kids worked hard and played hard and also went on exciting adventures walking the town to museums. thank you thank you thank you for all the love and care and joy you brought to our family.

Experiencia fantástica: I spent 10 hours a week for 2 weeks at Hola Latin Spanish during my time in Oaxaca. I arrived in Mexico without knowing any Spanish, but thanks to my incredible teachers, Uriel and Edgar, I now understand the basics and feel much more confident speaking Spanish. I highly recommend my teacher Andrew, who is from Oaxaca, who teaches at a local university and has international experience in the US and China. L’école elle-même est un lieu propre et agréable et je m’y sentais bien. J’ai beaucoup aimé mes deux maestros, Juan Carlos et Edgar, deux personnes très cultivées, accueillantes, sympathiques. On sent un réel souci de leur part de s’adapter à nos besoins et de nous aider à progresser, quelque soit notre niveau. C’est une école de langues qui offre un enseignement de qualité dans un cadre détendu. Je la recommande fortement.

Experiencia fantástica: I took four weeks of semi-intensive Spanish with Hola Latin Spanish, three hours every weekday morning, and I was very happy I did! All of the instructors, including Yesenia and Uriel, were great! They were very helpful, supportive and positive. My lessons focused mainly on conversation along with some grammar and fun exercises. I learned a lot about Oaxaca and the local culture. In addition, the school organized several enjoyable outings, from bike tours to market visits. I highly recommend this school, and I look forward to returning for more instruction on my next visit to the beautiful city of Oaxaca!

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful teachers. I did 8 hours of private classes with them across 3 different teachers and they were all great. What I especially loved was that they communicated with each other to understand my interests, strengths, and weakness and areas where I wanted more help so each class felt like a continuation. I think it’s super helpful to have that consistency despite multiple teachers.

Experiencia fantástica: The school is great -- they can adjust the instruction to whatever you want. I did 1 week of 3 hours/day in a class of 5 people, then 1 week of 2 hours/day in private lessons. The teachers are all wonderful. They'll also take you on field trips if you want. We toured the Abastos market, which would have been nearly impossible without the teachers as guides. The school is walking distance from anywhere in the central part of Oaxaca. I'll sign up with Hola again if I come back to Oaxaca.

My Spanish improved immensely during our lessons. The atmosphere at the school is warm and fun and we even had a Christmas party. Experiencia fantástica: Learning Spanish at Hola Latin Spanish School was one of my best experiences during my vacations in Mexico! There is a relaxed atmosphere, professional teachers who adjust their teaching plan to your way and pace of learning. Every lesson was fun but also very useful. After my refreshing course, I was more confident using Spanish during the rest of my journey and practising the skills. There are also plenty of activities you can join, so you are not only getting connected to your schoolmates but also learning insights of local culture and life in Oaxaca. I was lucky to finish my class at día de muertos, and with all the school activities around that festival, I had a great time!

Experiencia fantástica: We absolutely loved our experience with Hola Latin Spanish School! We were in Oaxaca for just over two months and took our spanish lessons there during our entire stay. Pathy and Elonda were our teachers, and they provided not only very informative Spanish lessons, but also made the classes very entertaining. Our level of Spanish started off as Beginner+ and by the end of our stay, we were able to have full conversations with them (as well as other locals in Mexico) completely in Spanish! In this period, we achieved far more than what we believed possible. What also makes this school stand out is how they integrate so many activities for the students to participate in. Whether it be a visit to the local market, an event for Dia de Muertos, a field trip to see the Alebrijes, or a full 2 day trip to see Mixteca, these experiences allowed us to connect with other students as well as the other teachers. Yesenia, the owner of the school, also made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped into her school and was always there to help us. We would wholeheartedly recommend this school for anyone interested in learning spanish in Oaxaca!

Experiencia fantástica: We spent a week doing Spanish lessons with Juan Carlos at the start of our backpacking trip, what an incredible decision that was. The school in general was amazing, the social activities, the vibe, the learning, all so so good. Juan Carlos was so incredibly patient with us and was an absolutely amazing teacher. We both felt so close to him by the end of the week, we’ll never forget our lessons and will never forget Juan Carlos. Could not recommend high enough - if you are in Oaxaca then go to Hola Latin Spanish school, you will not regret it!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I attended classes in person for three weeks at this amazing program in Oaxaca-- one of the best decisions I've ever made. I had 2 weeks of three hours of 1-on-1 classes daily, and the last week 4 hours of 1-on-1 classes daily. The instructors tailor the lessons according to whatever you want to cover--grammar, conversation, cultural knowledge--whatever you want to focus on. Aside from the classes, they organized trips to local markets and towns outside of Oaxaca, offered a cooking class, and organized a slew of events around Dia de Muertos--what a special experience! -- so you're exposed to local culture-- a full immersion experience! Everyone there is extremely kind, enthusiastic and helpful (including Uriel and Yesenia who run the school-- they are fantastic!), and my two instructors, Carlos and Andrew, were wonderful -- my spanish improved so much! I would give them 10 stars if I could! And I'll be back, hopefully next year!

Experiencia fantástica: I took classes for two weeks here and it was a fantastic experience. The teachers were able to teach to my specific needs as an upper-intermediate student. It's a great space in a centrally located part of el Centro and they also put on fun events that helped me get to know my fellow students. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: I really enjoyed my time at Hola Latin Spanish School. I was in Oaxaca 1 month and took individual sessions with Pathy, Juan Carlos & Alondra. All were very friendly, helpful and patient. I was a little overwhelmed after a 20-year break but I definitely improved over my time. I had the chance of taking a tour of the impressive local Abastos Market with Uriel which was great too! Yesenia has a very warm personality and they do a great job of offering additional gatherings. There was a Spanish Slang class, a Friday potluck gathering and market tour. It’s a great way to integrate yourself within the city, culture and community. They are also very flexible with scheduling. Try to do classes more than 1-2 times a week. Thanks again to Hola Latin and I highly recommend working with them to improve your Spanish. Experiencia negativa: I went here for one week and didn’t learn a lot. I already took an intensive course in another school in Mexico and came here with a good base of Spanish already. I told my maestro about everything I already learned and he only repeated these things in my intensive course. It felt like I wasted some money here. I don’t remember the name of my maestro, but he was very young. It felt like the classes were sometimes improvised and he didn’t have a lot of experience. I had good contact with Uriel, I think I would’ve learned way more if he was my maestro.

Experiencia fantástica: Ya puse un opinión sobre Hola Latín Spanish hace unos años, pero no dije mucho sobre mi experiencia entonces quisiera explicar de nuevo. Tome clases por mas o menos 1 año y medio en línea con Yez y Uriel! Y aprendí muchísimo sobre la gramática, como a construir oraciones, palabras y jerga mexicanas etc. Siempre fueron amable & paciente. Hubo veces cuando simplemente NO entendí la tema, y siempre tomaron el tiempo que necesité para entender. ¡Apliqué lo que aprendí cuando llegué a Mexico con muchísimo éxito! Gracias. Experiencia fantástica: My partner and I took four weeks of intensive classes (4h per day) and we absolutely loved it! Hola Latin Spanish School was our second home in Oaxaca. Special shoutout to our teachers Pathy and Alondra who were really amazing; they both matched our level of Spanish perfectly (spoke slowly and with easy words in the beginning and proceeded to more "difficult" conversations once our Spanish improved) and made the lessons fun with different games and practice methods. Our teachers also gave us many great tips on what to do in Oaxaca or tips about practical stuff (what taxi app is used (didi), how to disinfect store-bought fruits and vegetables etc.), which made us feel very safe and welcome. Not only did our Spanish improve a lot, being part of the school allowed us to meet new people as well, even though the lessons were private (or with your partner/kids/friends). The school organised multiple fun events, such as a language exchange evening, a dinner, and a cooking class, and allowed us to put in new ideas as well (we went bowling and bouldering!). Thank you so much for being our base in Oaxaca for four weeks. Uriel & Yesenia, thank you for the warm welcome every morning and your help with everything!

Experiencia fantástica: Everything about our experience with HolaLatin was a joy. From the initial contact and communication online to the classes themselves. The atmosphere at the school is very relaxed and welcoming. The teachers are excellent, able to assess your Spanish level and introduce what you need to work on to progress. My wife and I had Pathy and Alondra as teachers and we loved them. Doing online lessons with Pathy before our trip was really helpful for my wife. Nothing but smiling faces from all the other student I saw.

It exceeded all expectations. I ended up staying for close to three months and Hola Latin was a bright spot during my time in Oaxaca. He was a great teacher a very patient and took his time but if you are in Oaxaca, this would be the best place for you to take Spanish classes because they are involved in the community as well and they teach native Spanish, and the teachers are native Spanish speakers.

We had private lessons here and all of us had such a lovely time. Games, conversation and worksheets really helped. A lovely place to learn with a friendly receptionist, free water and toilets. Experiencia fantástica: After a lot of hesitation I finally made the decision to go to Hola Latin Spanish school, and I don’t regret it at all. The first class was a free trial to check my Spanish levels. Pathy was my teacher, and she did a great job making me comfortable during class. Pathy is really good at motivating by customizing the classes in a way that works for you. She’s also flexible and up for any ideas, for instance, going to a coffee shop or going to a local market close by for breakfast. I would highly recommend choosing Hola Latin Spanish class if you want to learn Spanish in Oaxaca. The environment is super friendly and everyone working there are welcoming. It’s also close to the city center.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the best school to learn spanish! My teacher Mariela was very patient and tailored the classes to help me learn what I wanted. She is an excellent teacher. I came away having learnt loads! They also have lots of resources such as games and worksheets which improve the learning experience and I was given small pieces of homework each day to help me consolidate what i had learned. On the last day of classes we went to the market with some other students and teachers which was fun.

I'm so pleased with the improvement in my Spanish and owe it to the wonderful teachers at Hola Latin. They make classes fun and interesting, and on top of that organize tours and extracurricular classes to learn about the culture of Oaxaca. It's really a special place!

Experiencia fantástica: I just finished a week of lessons with Pathy at Hola Spanish. It was a last minute booking, but the team were really accommodating and worked around my schedule. Pathy was a patient, incredibly knowledgeable and friendly teacher. The classes were really interactive and focused on speaking the language. Despite the short period, I think I learned a lot and now have a better understanding of the language. Highly recommend anybody interested in learning to visit Hola Spanish. It's a pity I can't stay longer!

I had a few different teachers and they were all very professional and supportive. Also, the school ran different tours and social events which made it really easy to meet other students! Experiencia fantástica: I was a student at Hola Latin Spanish for about 9 weeks. They are like my family now, especially Juan Carlos my teacher, and the owners Jesse and Uriel. I did have some vocabulary when I first arrived, and I could understand a little; but having a conversation was not on the cards. Now it is, not in great depth, yet, but at least I can get by and have a solid foundation, thanks to Juan Carlos and HLS. Now it is all about the practice, and just speaking. Some days the flow comes easier than others, but HOLA is there with you wherever you are at. In my lessons I got a balance of grammar intertwined with the conversation, plus a lot of important cultural and historical education. The final week, Juan Carlos and I walked the city, visited museums, discussed books in the library, and just talked and end enjoyed being out of the classroom. HOLA plans day trips, cooking classes, and social evenings to help you assimilate into the culture and language. So much fun, and costs for lessons and extracurricular are more than reasonable. It is a great way to connect with other students of all ages and backgrounds, to share stories, and build relationship. HLS go the extra mile to enrich your experience however they can, and they do everything possible to accommodate the learning schedule that is best for you. Experiencia fantástica: Great school! The teachers were great, supe responsive and the prices was totally reasonable. We ended up booking a trip to some of the Pueblas and a mezcalador through them. Great trip, cheaper than any other tour and a ton of fun. A great school for anyone, especially backpackers! Wish I could give them 200 stars

I'm very thankful for this school it helped me find my inner Mexican.

L’ambiance est vraiment géniale, le lieu est très sympa, les professeurs sont adorables, une vraie famille! Il y’a régulièrement des sorties qui sont prévues avec l’école, c’est vraiment super pour nous faire connaître la culture de la ville. Je la recommande vivement, la meilleure de Oaxaca!!

Experiencia fantástica: My partner and I did a week of classes (2 hours per day) while visiting Oaxaca City. Our teacher Pathy and all the staff at the school were incredibly kind, patient, welcoming, knowledgable and helpful. Pathy was an amazing teacher and I can't thank her enough for how quickly our Spanish improved under her guidance. I wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend Hola Latin Spanish School and hope to return one day in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: Such an amazing experience at Hola Latin Spanish School! We were staying in Oaxaca for a few weeks and decided to take classes to pick up some basic Spanish for our time in Mexico. Our teacher Pathy was fantastic. She spoke excellent English and was patient and thorough in teaching us. We noticed a marked improvement in our Spanish communication and comprehension as a result of her tutelage. The whole team at Hola was so inviting and kind and made our learning experience very enjoyable. The communication for organising classes and payment was excellent. I highly recommend taking classes here for anyone passing through Oaxaca!

She was especially kind and welcoming to take me to her hometown Cuilapam where I attended a wedding and met her family which was such an experience! Overall, this Spanish school exceeded my expectations, they were very flexible and responded promptly, I would definitely recommend signing up for some classes while you’re in Oaxaca City!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been attending Hola Latino Spanish School for the past 9 Weeks, and I Absolutely Luv This School! The teachers are very kind, friendly, intelligent And Patient!! While I definitely make many mistakes in verb conjugations and pronouciation, my teachers are always very quick to correct my errors, and always remind me Practicar, Practicar Practicar! Not only am I learning the language I feel I have made some great friends. Uriel, who is one of the fouonders of the school, helped me to find an Apartment, and even gets my laundry done! Wow!!! Not only is my Spanish improved, my clothes have never been So Clean!! I am so happy at this school. I highly recommend signing up at Hole Latino Spanish School!!

Experiencia fantástica: We had the best time learning Spanish with Juan Carlos! We did three 3 hour mornings and found it to greatly help our basic Spanish skills for our backpacking trip. We also learnt about the history and sociopolitical aspects of Mexico. We cannot recommend Hola Latin and, especially, Carlos enough!

Experiencia fantástica: I loved my experience - they were completely flexible to my needs, I requested 3 x 1hr sessions and it wasn't a problem to them. The teaching style was super fun - lots of games and straight into useful, practical, conversational material. Pathy was my teacher and she was fantastic. They also take you on excursions- they didn't have to pay for our transport but they did! A whole day tour, for free! They really care and love what they do. Thank you so so much. Experiencia fantástica: While staying in Oaxaca I took 2 hours of Spanish classes in the morning (5 days in a row). My teacher was Enrique and my main goal was to improve my speaking skills. Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been learning Spanish with Yez at Hola Latin Spanish and from day 1 I was encouraged to speak Spanish aloud. This has helped me be really confident and I’m now able to hold a conversation in Spanish for 30 minutes! She makes learning Spanish fun and easy. I would recommend her to anyone thinking of learning Spanish

Experiencia fantástica: I had some doubts initially because this school didn’t have many reviews, but I decided to go for it anyway since it was cheaper than the other options. At the end I am really really glad I went with them, Mariela was amazing and helped me improve my Spanish a lot. Also on my last day I was sick and couldn’t complete my class, Mariela offered to do the last hour online at a later time after I’d already left Oaxaca. I highly recommend them, they were amazing!
