Experiencia positiva: I had 1:1 classes with 3 different teachers during my time here and whilst all 3 teachers were good, I particularly loved my classes with Ari. Whilst the vibe was casual, she was listening closely to where I was at and what I kept tripping up on, and she then tailored her teaching to that. All of the teachers were really lovely and fun to talk to! The school was totally flexible with the number of hours I wanted, when I wanted to take them, and with who - which I really appreciated.

My teachers were very knowledgeable, highly dedicated, patient and passionate. Nico, the director, and Sandy at the office made me feel at home immediately. I also had a wonderful homestay experience. My homestay "mom" provided me with information and tips to help me navigate the city, and she was a great friend in helping me practice my Spanish. Experiencia fantástica: I would highly recommend taking classes at San Cris. What I appreciated most is that, before the week started, we clearly indicated our level and our goals. They really listened to this. As a result, my boyfriend and I had different lessons tailored to our individual needs. The classes were truly customized and focused on what each of us wanted to improve and why. This personal approach made a big difference. We took one week of private lessons (20 hours in total), divided into two sessions of 1.5 hours and one session of 1 hour per day. This was a very good structure: intensive, but still well balanced and manageable. Another big plus was having three different teachers each day. This was great because it allowed us to have many different types of conversations and be exposed to different speaking styles and perspectives. The teachers are very good at what they do. They explain things clearly, they enjoy teaching, and they also have a good sense of humor. This made the lessons both effective and enjoyable — a great combination of productive and pleasant. There is also a warm and friendly atmosphere at the school. On our last day, we had a small closing gathering with tamales together with other students and all the teachers . Overall, I am clearly very satisfied with my experience and would definitely recommend taking lessons here.

Experiencia fantástica: Awesome place to improve your Spanish! We spent a week here with 4h of pricate classes every morning. They split our classes into 2 blocks of 1,5h and a final hour, with 15 minute breaks in between. Every day from 9-13.30 as we wanted. There is a nice patio where you can relax during the breaks and there’s unlimited coffee and water. The teachers are lovely and very capable, obviously focused on teaching Spanish, but also with a good sense of humour and some storytelling about local/Mexican life and history. Not to forget the very welcome recommendations about where to eat & drink;) Really had a great time and learned a lot in just 1 week, thanks to them. So Nico, Arely and Sandy, muchas gracias!

Nous avons passé une semaine dans cette école de langue avec ma fille de 10 ans, et l’expérience a été absolument géniale, autant pour elle que pour moi. L’équipe est bienveillante, patiente et très professionnelle. Les professeurs savent parfaitement s’adapter aux enfants : les cours sont ludiques, dynamiques et motivants, ce qui permet d’apprendre l’espagnol sans pression, dans la bonne humeur. Ma fille a pris confiance, s’est amusée et a vraiment progressé en très peu de temps. L’ambiance de l’école est chaleureuse et familiale, on s’y sent tout de suite à l’aise. L’organisation est fluide, les groupes bien pensés, et chacun est attentif au rythme et au niveau des élèves. Cette semaine a été à la fois enrichissante, rassurante et inspirante, surtout pour un enfant. Nous repartons avec de très beaux souvenirs et une vraie envie de revenir. Experiencia fantástica: I can't recommend this school enough. I studied Spanish there for 6 weeks. I had very specific instructions about what I wanted out of Spanish classes. Both instructors did an outstanding job. The school's staff is also friendly and flexible. As for San Cristóbal, it is beautiful, and the people are friendly. Most importantly, for a Spanish language learner, almost nobody speaks English. There are many opportunities to practice what you learn.

Experiencia fantástica: I had 4 hours x 5 days Spanish class. I was taking my classes as I wished like one 4 hours classes on Monday. Then another one next week as I stayed in SC for 5 weeks. Very flexible and I loved the lesson with Zahira. Her explanation and teaching way was perfect! I could feel I was learning a lot from her! Experiencia fantástica: Really easy to book last minute one-on-on tutoring that fit around my schedule for a very reasonable price. The tutors are really lovely too and helped a lot by answering all my random grammar questions. It’s half grammar learning, half speaking practise which is really useful. Not sure how it is for a beginner, but for intermediate level, it plugged in some gaps in my knowledge. Would recommend!

But what makes this place special is the people: the staff is incredibly friendly, full of positive vibes, and genuinely care about helping you improve. Experiencia fantástica: We had an amazing 5 weeks learning Spanish with Ale and Luisa. The school splits the 3 hour class into two sessions of 1.5 hours with 1 teacher for grammar and another for vocabulary and conversation. This worked well for us and it was nice to interact with two different teachers each day. The class sizes are maximum 2 people which meant we got a lot of attention and chance to talk. The environment is nice with coffee and water available as well as a bright patio. Sandy and Nico went above and beyond in catering to some of our requests and were always friendly and welcoming.

My wife is a relative newcomer to the language. We decided on Sancris Language School after meeting with Nico and Sandy. We were at Sancris for a little more than 4 weeks. It was a great experience for both of us! They quickly determined where we were at and tailored instruction and conversation to fit. Great environment to learn. Angie, Dani, Zahíra, Sandy, and Nico were like family five days a week!

Experiencia fantástica: I spent the last 2 weeks studying at San Cris Language School taking individual classes (group class are offered). I can’t speak higher of my experience. Having completed Spanish courses at two other institutions in Mexico (both in group and individual settings) I found my time at Sancris Language School an incredible investment in time and money and look forward to taking online courses with them in the future to continue to improve. I found the amount paid aligns with the value and experience received - unlike other schools in San Cris no deposit or joining fee is required, the ability to reschedule classes is easy to ensure a session isn’t missed and the ability to extend week to week is available, they are very accomodating. My first week I completed 4 hours a day with 3 different teachers and the second week I completed 3 hours a day with two teachers. I found having different teachers provides exposure to different teaching methods, speed of speech as well as accents. All of my teachers would discuss what they completed and what could be worked on to ensure that each session is customised correctly. The teachers are fantastic. Incredibly patient, fun, relatable and content on building a relationship with you, they ensure the lessons are relevant to your level (using the large collection of resources they have), they focus on weaknesses and strengths and build on them. Coffee and filtered water available all day along with a sunny courtyard to chat to other students or teachers during the break! Thank you to everyone (teachers and receptionists) at SanCris Language School for a great memory and experience!

Experiencia positiva: I took Intensive classes twice a day for two weeks with two different tutors per day. The tutoring sessions helped me review my Spanish in a safe environment while settling into San Cristobal to teach English. My tutors helped me understand some of the cultural differences between the U.S. and Mexico, and answered my many questions about daily life in Chiapas.

Experiencia fantástica: I spent a week in sancris language school in basic/intermediate classes learning the past tense mostly. The professors were all really interesting which made for a nice mix of grammar and conversation. I signed up for a group classes which I would recommend as there was only one other student and some classes were one on one. San Cristóbal is an incredible town and this school has been the perfect place to improve my Spanish while visiting.

They were also excellent guides as well since we went out and walked around and they showed me their fabulous city. Can’t wait to return next winter to this school again. Highly recommended!

Experiencia fantástica: I really enjoyed my Spanish lessons at SanCris Language School! Each day began with 1.5 hours of conversation class, each day with a different teacher (which made for interesting conversation each time). Then I met for 1.5 hours with Enrique to focus in on grammar, which was extremely helpful. In 3 days of classes, I really learned a lot and completely enjoyed every bit! Each of my teachers were knowledgeable and interesting, tailoring classes to what I needed to learn most while travelling and to what I wanted to learn about Mexican culture. The school were also very flexible on days and dates, helping us find accommodation and fit school around other commitments. I would have loved to have stayed longer and would recommend to anyone. Experiencia fantástica: I took one on one classes. The teachers do a great job of highlighting mistakes by repeating what you were trying to say in a correct manner. Aside from good grammar advice they try to keep the classes interesting!

Experiencia fantástica: I only took three days of classes at San Cris Language School, but I had a great time during those three days. All teachers do their utmost to make you feel at home. Special thanks to Dani for taking the time to explain the politics of the region to me and to Emanuel who took me around town and made it feel more like an outing with a friend than a Spanish class. No matter your level, would 100% recommend taking classes at SCLS!

Experiencia fantástica: We brought five kids (two families) to San Cristobal for language classes ages 6-13. They had the best time and learned so much!! The teachers were amazing and everyone at the school was so welcoming. Everyday the kids were excited to go to school! They even celebrated my daughter’s birthday with a piñata. We will be back!

Experiencia fantástica: I signed up for beginner lessons with my girlfriend and SanCris were very accommodating and put us in a class together. The lessons followed a good structure of grammar and then conversation and we were able to consolidate our understandings. Our teachers were really helpful and enthusiastic and we had a really fun week greatly improving our Spanish.
