ANDERS LANGUAGES MEXICO

Experiencia positiva: I spent a week at Anders Language Institute in Cuernavaca, Mexico in June 2025. Be aware that the director of the institute, Peter/Bart/Pedro, is not onsite; he lives in Spain. The onsite director will be making all the decisions that determine what kind of experience you have — most importantly who your teacher will be each day. Even more important to know: the instructional model is sitting for long stretches of time being tutored 1 on 1. That model appealed to me from afar, but in fact it was very difficult for me to sit still for so long. I’m a teacher and I’m used to moving around.

Experiencia fantástica: I just returned from two weeks at the Anders Language School in Cuernavaca, Mexico. As an experienced student of languages, I can safely say it was without any doubt the best workshop of any kind I have ever attended. As soon as the program began at breakfast on Monday morning, I felt as if I had been welcomed by old friends. Through leisurely conversation, the instructors were able to size up our ability and quickly develop an appropriate curriculum plan. I had four teachers throughout the two weeks, each offering a different aspect of language, history, and culture, completely in Spanish. Being at roughly the B1 level, I was immediately challenged with essays and conversation. I was amazed that I could discuss the readings and answer questions at a level I never knew I was previously able. The instructors corrected my grammar in a kind and gentle manner, and supported my learning beautifully. The physical plant, which had been a private home many years ago, is impeccably clean and the food is amazing. The program takes place in what would be like a boutique hotel. The rooms are cleaned daily, the beds are made, and the lawn and outdoor plants are watered. Meal time is a relaxing and fun experience during which everyone chats and enjoys home-style cooking. I do recommend at least one of the supplemental excursions because there is a lot of sitting and learning. Take walks in the very safe gated street or further afield in the colorful Tres de Mayo neighborhood. The instructors are not in the building during the weekend, so a trip by taxi into Cuernavaca “Centro” is a good idea. I highly recommend the Anders Language School in Cuernavaca, in fact, I would truly enjoy a return visit next year. No matter what level you find yourself in your language learning, you will be delightfully challenged and quickly see your progress. The teaching style is a mixture of reading, speaking, auditory comprehension, and some writing. No matter what the instructors have planned, there is always room for your own questions regarding vocabulary and grammar. As the website explains, this is one-on-one tutoring, which is a highlight of the program.

Experiencia fantástica: Location: Seville, Spain Had an incredible experience and would highly recommend! We did the 5 day/9 hours program. The program included breakfast & lunch with very good. They worked around my food allergies, too. Great atmosphere in house. Teachers were great. I think the 2 week session, if you can swing it, would be better than 5 days. We cannot wait to go back!! Thank you for an amazing adventure! We took train to Madrid before we left and practiced Spanish before heading back to US.

Experiencia fantástica: Three weeks at Anders Languages in Cuernavaca, Mexico with perfect January/February weather was an exceptional and memorable experience. The excellent instructors (we each had rotating one-on-one sessions) were creative, patient, and a whole lot of fun. We enjoyed a very comfortable home that housed, in our case, four students. My wife and I had a large comfortable room with everything we needed. Every day we had delicious meals, a wonderful variety with more than enough to eat. The facility is impressive, well-maintained, and stocked with food, cookies, beer, wine, and coffee. There were outings to local restaurants where we enjoyed tacos, tostadas, tortas, and more. And of course, the restaurants had a large variety of cocktails, Mexican beers, and fruit juices. We built up our Spanish speaking skills and accelerated our progress toward becoming bilingual. We did not expect miracles in three weeks, but I do believe we made excellent progress while building our language foundations. If you want to take some serious steps toward learning Spanish this is a fantastic way to do it. By the way, it is easy to fly into Mexico City and Anders provides the option to have a driver meet you at the airport for the 90-minute ride to Cuernavaca. I strongly recommend this no stress way of traveling to the Anders Languages facility.

Experiencia fantástica: This school offers a terrific immersive Spanish language program. The instruction is one-on-one and includes formal classes, informal instruction at meals and special excursions, a beautiful physical plant, great food and caring teachers.

Experiencia fantástica: In November of 2024, my husband and I spent 3 weeks at Anders Spanish Immersion School in Cuernavaca, MX. We had studied Spanish via DuoLingo and other means for a few years so we had a foundation in Spanish. The 3 week immersion course gave us a solid foundation from which we can continue to build upon. The school with in-house residence and breakfast/lunch meals was very convenient which allowed us to focus on the main task. We opted for the 9 hr/day program which suited us well. We did the 1:1 program and would highly recommend this option. The one on one structure meant a program tailored to our specific needs. The teachers were passionate, understanding and skilled. The home was well appointed and very clean. We would highly recommend Anders Immersion for those who want to take their Spanish to the next level.

Experiencia fantástica: I had an amazing week at the Anders school in Mexico. The instructors made learning fun with stories, videos, lessons, games, etc. The food was absolutely delicious and the accommodations were perfect. I intend to go back again for a much longer trip next time. I would recommend Anders to anyone looking to learn or improve their Spanish.

Experiencia fantástica: Everything about the experience exceeded my expectations! I went to Anders hoping to speak Spanish consistently for a week and hoping to receive feedback on my mistakes so that my speaking and listening improve. Both of those things happened, but I also learned so much more! All of the instructors are friendly, intelligent, and very good at what they do. They tailored my experience to my work in education so that I also learned how to teach Spanish better, how to communicate with Spanish-speaking families, and how to use verbs and phrases specific to learning and education. The house is beautiful, comfortable and secure. We felt safe the entire time we were there. The food is delicious and the pool is refreshing. I cannot wait to visit again!

Experiencia fantástica: Anders Languages is an outstanding immersion program to learn Spanish. Each student gets a private tutor. The tutors change frequently, so you get different perspectives, but the tutors talk to each other, so each lesson builds on previous ones. The teachers eat breakfasts and lunches with the students, encouraging us to speak only Spanish. Once/week each student is taken with a tutor to see something special in the city of Cuernavaca. During these excursions, we only speak Spanish while learning more of the history and culture of the area. I can't recommend this proram enough. It's wonderful. I'll definitely go again.

Experiencia fantástica: Before attending Anders Languages in Cuernavaca, Mexico I had attended Spanish immersion programs in two different cities in Mexico and one in Costa Rica. All three were very good (I was a repeat customer at each). But one had the best teachers, another had the best course materials, and the third had the best accommodations. Anders was "best in class" in all three categories. If you are looking for one-on-one instruction for adults in comfortable and secure surroundings, provided by experienced teachers who use time-tested course materials, Anders Languages is the place for you. I give it five stars!

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot recommend my trip to Anders Languages in Cuernavaca enough! I had hoped that I would improve my Spanish by doing a 7 day immersion program at Anders. Since I was only going for a week I signed up for the most intensive version which runs from 9am to 10:30 pm. I was concerned that it would be too intense for me--but it really was not. Since the day is broken up into a pattern of lessons, meals and casual conversation it ended up being much more managble than I thought it would be. Additionally, I had two excellent instructors, Raul and Rocio, both with their own unique personalities and teaching style which helped the days fly by. I personally found it gratifying to engage in an immersive activity all day long--you really have to pay attention in a one on one setting compared with a classroom. No daydreaming during lessons! No one else is going to answer their questions but you! I signed up for the cultural supplement and was really glad that I did. It gave me an opportunity to see places I would otherwise not have seen, like Taxco and Xochicalco. And it was a great opportunity to get to know my instructor Raul a bit better on the car rides! The Anders home is in a gated and attended cul de sac in a gated community in a lovely verdant neighborhood in Cuernevaca. It is an easy cab ride to the center of town. I would say that my Spanish improved over the week--I was able to firm up my use of present tense pretty well, and touch on a tiny bit of future and past tenses. Improved my vocabulary and comprehension, and use of numbers. I still have a ways to go, but I think that I have set a much better foundation for speaking than I had when I arrived. I really enjoyed the whole experience, but mostly enjoyed getting to know Raul and Rocio through my lessons and outings. It was a really wonderful experience overall, and I honestly feel like I made friends!

Experiencia fantástica: I came to advance my Spanish language and that I did. The main teachers I had were great. Experienced, patient, personable, and engaging. The stay was comfortable. I have not been to another Spanish Immersion school, so I cannot compare. However, I would/will be back. It was an overall great experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Anders offered an exceptional experience for language immersion. The residence was comfortable and clean, the food was good and accommodated several diet restrictions, the teachers provided diverse teaching styles that met a variety of learning styles, and the classes were a mix of community experiences and 1:1 instruction. I arrived speaking minimal Spanish and left two weeks later confident with basic conversational Spanish. My only regret is not staying longer.

The amazing team of maestros/as at Anders uses their diverse range of knowledge, skills, teaching tools and methods to give each student a 360 learning experience. I was fortunate to spend two weeks at Anders and opted for the full day program. The 1:1 teaching program meant that my learning plan was 100% customized for me, and I had a dedicated instructor at all times. From breakfast until bedtime I was able to immerse myself in Spanish as much as I wanted, but also at my own pace. On top of that, you can experience a small slice of everyday life in México near the city of Cuernavaca while practicing your Spanish in the shops and restaurants of Tres de Mayo just a short walk away. If your goal is to make rapid progess in comprehending, reading and speaking Spanish, and you're willing to put in the work, I highly recommend Anders México.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to Anders from June 17-25 2023. Firstly, the instructors are top notch! Esther and Rocio were my instructors and they were fabulous.Breakfast and lunch are very good too!. Dinner doesn’t consist of much other than some eggs and toast you can cook. There aren’t really any restaurants near by so definitely get some peso’s at the airport so you can call a taxi. Uber is not reliable to pick you up since the school is roughly 15 min from the center of town. I did the gastronomic program and it was a great time. I learned to cook some new recipes, saw a couple of markets, ate crickets and also saw Tepoztlan. Get ready for a wonderful and challenging experience! I will do it again.

Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I took a 9-hour, five-day immersion in March of 2023. We were pleasantly impressed with everything thing it entailed from the beginning to the end. Nothing was a disappointment. The deluxe suite was memorable, the cultural experiences were unexpected, and the company was wonderful. There were five of us in the house. Of the other three, two were returning students as we will be this upcoming Spring. Our “Meet and Greet” (recommended) driver was waiting for us at the airport and returned us from our hotel in Cuernavaca a few days after our course ended. Everything was on time and top notch. We both look forward to our return. T&T

Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I spent 2 weeks enrolled at Anders language school in Cuernavaca, and our primary regret is that we didn't spend another week there. We are both intermediate students, but it had been six years since we had been in a formal learning situation (we had visited central Mexico 7 times in the interim and had practiced). In 2 weeks of intense (sometimes exhaustive) study, we had done a thorough review of two years of Spanish. More than that, though we both picked up a deeper understanding of the language through interaction with the teachers. On a separate note, the house is very comfortable and there are several refrigerators stocked with drinks and snacks. Breakfast and lunch are pleasant and nutritious and give students a chance to converse with teachers on a personal level. And the extracurricular activities are great!

Experiencia fantástica: Anders is the experience you wish you had in school. In terms of the instruction, because you typically work one on one, you can ask every stupid question you can think of to an incredibly knowledgeable and friendly instructor without ever feeling bad about annoying fellow classmates. That, on top of being immersed in the Mexican culture, made the experience feel like jumping into hyperdrive in terms of advancing my Spanish competency. Couldn’t recommend it more, would just suggest coming with some prior Spanish experience to take advantage of the great conversations you can have. Thanks Anders!

Experiencia fantástica: I took a 7-day, 9-hour per day course in the Cuernavaca location. It totally exceeded my expectations. 1-on-1 instruction with incredibly fun and patient teachers who know exactly how to teach you. The food is amazing, the location is beautiful and safe, and you will definitely level up your language. Cannot recommend highly enough! I had such an incredible week, I was so sad to leave.

Anders provided us with comfortable housing, delicious food, cultural excursions, and every opportunity to learn and practice Spanish with our own tutor. We met kind and like-minded travelers. We had a blast learning because the material and speed it was taught, was tailored to us. And the staff at Anders went out of their way to make my birthday so very special! We had a homemade celebratory meal with birthday cake and song! I will cherish this memory forever. As life gets busy, we are hoping to head back in a year or two to brush up on our Spanish.

The whole staff is professional yet relaxed and welcoming from the cook to the manager; the drivers to the owner. I spent 2 weeks in the 12hr/day program. Yes, challenging. Yes, totally worth it. I came with 1 year of Spanish. (Level B1) My gammer improved significantly, my vocabulary grew and more than anything my overall fluency, comprehension and comfort with the Spanish language flourished. Challenging, rewarding and just plain fun. I would highly recommend Anders to family, close friends, or anyone looking for an intense, dynamic and enjoyable way to jump-start, improve or polish their Spanish.

Experiencia fantástica: I just finished a seven day immersion program at the Mexico City location (Cuernavaca). I came with three specific goals: To improve my listening comprehension, to review advanced grammar points (especially with the subjunctive), and to see if the methods I’ve been using these last several years are the most effective possible. And I’m happy to say I’ve not only accomplished my goals but I have exceeded them. The environment is perfect for learning. All of the instructors are incredibly patient, knowledgeable and fun to communicate and work with. The materials are focused and practical. The food is amazingly delicious and it’s located in a safe and beautiful area. I highly recommend it and hope to come back someday.

Experiencia fantástica: Por dos semanas en febrero 2022, me quedé en la residencia Anders en la bonita Cuernavaca, Mx. ¡Qué maravilla! Me encantó la escuela y me encantaron todos los profesores. Yo quería mejorar mi nivel de conversación, así que elegí la experiencia inmersión, uno a uno 12 - es decir tener clases con un solo profesor a la vez, por casi 12 horas cada día. Elegí el módulo cultural en el que viajamos a otras ciudades como Tepoztlán y Taxco, y fuimos a museos y haciendas famosas. Elegí también el módulo gastronómico el el que fuimos de compras en Jiutepec para comprar los comestibles para preparar dos comidas Mexicanas para el grupo. ¡Que experiencia inolvidable! (Además, todas las comidas en la escuela eran excepcionales.) Lo mejor es que todo en la escuela era en español - todo. Fue exactamente lo que yo estaba buscando. Gracias de corazón a todo el mundo en Anders. Ya les extraño mucho, y espero con ansias volver otra vez en el futuro.

Experiencia fantástica: Just finished two weeks at Anders in Mexico. If you’re serious about learning Spanish, this is an excellent option. All of the classes are personalized just for you. I was exposed to a number of very kind instructors who were able to help me zero in on my problem areas without a lot of stress. My program included instructor-led outings to a variety of local sites to experience the food and culture of the area, and these were critical for me in embedding the language within its surrounding culture, as well as in helping me learn to navigate an unfamiliar location. I enjoyed staying in the residence. As much as it would have been fun to get to know a host family, being on my own in the evenings allowed me to relax and prepare for the next day’s activities.
